Windows Cluster Monitor Study:

Project Overview

This solution was needed to replace the aging cluster monitoring test used for older (prior to Windows 2008) clusters. The solution uses a console application to report to the Xymon monitoring server and the Windows application is used to modify the result of the test based on cluster groups and resources.

Our client needed to be able to modify the result of the monitor if they have a known issue with a resource, but don't wish to miss alerts if another resource fails. We created the Windows application to compliment the console applictation and allow a user to exclude cluster resources and/or groups from the monitoring test manually, and re-instate them as desired, while continuing to test all other resources on the cluster.
